Preparation is the key to success. This stage involves:

  • Securing stakeholder commitment.
  • Setting up your Steering Group.
  • Deciding which Work PositiveCI employee survey is best for you.

 

Secure stakeholder commitment

Securing buy-in from stakeholders and getting the right people on-board should be the first priority. Stakeholders include senior management, employees and employee representatives, safety representatives; essentially anyone who can affect or be affected by the running of your project. A business case may be necessary to help stakeholders understand the rationale for running Work PositiveCI within your organisation. For guidance on developing a business case click here.

 

Set up your Steering Group

A Steering Group should be set up to help guide, oversee and support the Work PositiveCI project. They will provide strategic direction and make key decisions on the project.

It is also recommended that a Work PositiveCI coordinator is appointed to help oversee and manage the project. A sample project plan template is available here.

 

Decide which Work PositiveCI employee survey is best for you

As part of the Measure stage your organisation will run a survey to identify indicators of work-related stress and critical incident exposure across your employees.

The Steering Group should decide which survey is best for its organisation depending on the types of exposures that may arise to its employees.  Examples of industries that are actively exposed to critical incidents in the workplace include frontline staff, such as those who work in the healthcare, emergency, military, security, rescue, public sector and others who operate in similar industries within the private sector.
